Dear
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is indeed a great honor and a privilege for me to welcome
you to the official site of the Embassy of the Republic
of Tajikistan in the United States of America. I do so with
a particular pride having the chance to be the first Ambassador
of Tajikistan to the United States of America in the history
of my country.
Since Tajikistan became independent in 1991 it has been
expanding relations with the international community as
well as the United States of America. In this regard I would
like to say there are many beneficial ties already established
between the two nations.
During the
visit of the President of Tajikistan Mr.Emomaly Rakhmon
to the United States, he declared his commitment
to continue the development of long-term strategic partnership
and cooperation between our states based on mutual benefit
and understanding.
On an international level, we continued cooperation with
the international community against such threats as international
terrorism, the proliferation of weapons of mass distruction
and drug trafficking.
Recognizing the importance of promoting democracy, developing
our political system and market oriented economy, as well
as strengthening our mutual relations, the Embassy will
continue to further develop the cooperation between Tajikistan
and the United States as well as the international community.
On February 26, 2003 I presented credentials to the President
of the United States of America. Since then the Embassy
of Tajikistan opened up its doors and has been working in
full capacity in Washington.
Consular section of the Embassy provides a wide array of
services to both Tajik citizens in the States as well as
US citizens. We welcome all your suggestions to improve
our services.
We invite you to visit Tajikistan, a beautiful country with
unique hospitality and friendly people, rich ancient history,
culture, ethnography and literature. In the United States
one can find a little piece of Tajikistan, located in Boulder,
in the state of Colorado. With the efforts of Tajik craftsmen
and assistance from the capital city - Dushanbe -- a Teahouse
(Choikhona) has been built. Everyone who visits the teahouse
would certainly think of visiting Tajikistan for real.
The country is made up of high mountain ranges of fascinating
beauty that are perfect for group and individual tourism
with various kinds of active rest, hiking and camping. It
is also worth mentioning that ten years ago, Congressman
Mark Udall from Colorado made an ascent of the Peak of Somony
(formerly Peak Communism), one of the ten highest mountains
in the world.
Tajikistan
is also rich in natural resources with all the periodic
tables presented. We have tremendous deposits of gold and
silver open for investment opportunities. There is also
a huge potential in hydropower projects. Rogoun and Sangtouda
hydro plants are open for foreign investors. By making investments
in such kind of projects you will invest in the future of
the region and also guarantee your profits.
In the end, in my capacity of the Ambassador of Tajikistan
to the United States of America, I would like to mention
that I am eager to devote all my energy to promote even
further friendly relations that our two nations have always
enjoyed.
I hope that you will find our website useful and helpful.
I wish you successes in all your endeavors.
Thank
you.
